After Nov. 14th: My Grandma’s Death Date (Pt. 4 of 10)

Today’s post is the fourth in a 10-part series involving serendipitous and mysterious events and occurrences involving the date of Nov. 14th (the same date my mother died). These posts will be categorized as events that happened before Nov. 14, the day of Nov. 14th, and after Nov. 14, 2013. Enjoy!

Tuesday Tribute

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERAThe fourth serendipitous occurrence took place after Nov. 14th and has to do with my grandmother’s death date. I had been spending days and hours organizing and clearing out all of my mother’s belongings from where she was staying in St. Thomas, VI. This in itself was a challenging experience; however, nothing prepared me for the shocking surprise that forced my person to lie down for minute to process.

As I was going through one of my mother’s files, I happened to come across my grandparent’s death certificates. I discovered that my mother’s mother also died on November 14th 56 years ago! This is amazing because not only was it the same date of the year (Nov. 14th) , but when I looked it up, I found it was also the same day of the week (Thursday). In my last post of this series, I mentioned how my mother and I believed that I had my grandmother’s spirit, so this was a very personal and special revelation for me. Until next time!

On Nov. 14th: My Cycle Begins (Pt. 3 of 10)

Today’s post is the third in a 10-part series involving serendipitous and mysterious events and occurrences involving the date of Nov. 14th (the same date my mother died). These posts will be categorized as events that happened before Nov. 14, the day of Nov. 14th, and after Nov. 14, 2013. Enjoy!

Tuesday Tribute

The third serendipitous occurrence took place the day of Nov. 14th and has to do with my cycle, as in my personal menstruation cycle. My mother was in intensive care the night before, and I remember staring out of my best friend’s balcony the whole night praying that G.O.D’s will be done and asking for acceptance in whatever the outcome. There was a part of me that was in denial that my mother could actually be leaving this planet. I never thought the day would come, especially now, especially like this.

I noticed a particular star outside that seemed to be twinkling and talking to me solely. Whatever it conveyed to me telepathically seemed to give me the courage to completely surrender the outcome in G.O.D’s most capable hands, releasing attachment in every way. It felt like I was breathing my last breath to be surrendering like this, but I knew it was necessary to embrace the reality of the moment.

As you can guess, getting that call at 5:34 am from my brother telling me my mother passed away was a major blow, but there was also a sense of peace because I had that faith in knowing this was G.O.D’s will. A circle of pain, confusion and disbelief may have been hoovering all around the surface of my existence, but at the center there was an indescribable faith and knowing that a new and necessary chapter in my life had begun as my mother’s had ended. You see, I believe me and my mother have been traveling together across lifetimes, and she even told me that I reminded her of her mother the day I was born. Whatever the reason for this phenomena, I sense the purpose has been to protect, prepare and promote each other’s spiritual development as we go.

So, as I said farewell (for now), to my fellow life traveler on this earth plane, it would make sense, symbolically, that I’d start my menstruation cycle on the same day. Yet, it doesn’t end there. There is another event that I’ll share later that makes this even more serendipitous and mysterious. Until next time.

Before Nov. 14th: Solar Eclipse Families (Pt. 2 of 10)

Today’s post is the second in a 10-part series involving serendipitous and mysterious events and occurrences involving the date of Nov. 14th (the same date my mother died). These posts will be categorized as events that happened before Nov. 14, the day of Nov. 14th, and after Nov. 14, 2013. Enjoy!

Tuesday Tribute

The second serendipitous occurrence to take place before Nov. 14th has to do with a  KTL BlogTalkRadio broadcast on Nov. 6th, 2013. The first and most obvious  thing to note is that the twins that host the show, Blue Pill and Red Pill, were born on Nov. 14th! But then it gets deeper.

One of the hosts shared how he “serendipitously” came across some information on solar eclipse families and how the one that had just took place on Nov. 3rd had special significance to his personal family (his younger brother was born on Nov. 3rd). Apparently, solar and lunar eclipses belong to families called Saros that are made up of 72 eclipses in an expand of 1,280 years. The Nov. 3rd solar eclipse was number 23 of Saros 143, a series that began on March 7, 1617 and ends on April 23, 2897, which is the same day as their mother’s birthday! But now here’s the kicker…

Since each Saros family happens every 18 years, the one that happened previously was on Oct. 24, 1995 (the same date as the last day of Durga Puja that I wrote about when my mother was first hospitalized a year earlier). The next one in this series will take place (you guessed it) on Nov. 14, 2031. All the while I was listening intrigued by the significance this eclipse had for the Pill’s family, little did I know what it would mean for me in about a week! Until next time.

Before Nov. 14th: A 7 Week Cycle Begins (Pt.1 of 10)

Today’s post is the first in a 10-part series involving serendipitous and mysterious events and occurrences that have taken place on Nov. 14th (the day my mother died). These posts will be categorized as events that happened before Nov. 14, the day of Nov. 14th, and after Nov. 14, 2013. Enjoy!

Tuesday Tribute

The first serendipitous occurrence to take place before Nov. 14th has to do with the Destiny Cards, an ancient astrological system hidden in the ordinary deck of playing cards. For over 15 years, I have studied and assisted individuals in understanding their life cycles to make better choices through traditional astrology and this fascinating system. In the Destiny Card system, there are 13 year cycles, 7 years cycles, yearly cycles, 52 day cycles, 7 week cycles and weekly cycles that are all calculated based on a mathematical formula. Each personal cycle begins on the day of the week that you were born (or on your birthday for the yearly cycle).

Before my mother passed away, I vaguely remember looking at my upcoming cycles on my computer software and noticing that a new 7 week cycle would begin for me on Thursday, Nov. 14th. At that time, I didn’t know how important this would be (for more than one reason) until months later!

The Serendipitous Date of Nov.14th: A 10 Part Series

Tuesday Tribute

Yesterday I mentioned that I will be writing a 10-part series sharing serendipitous and mysterious events and occurrences that have taken place on Nov. 14th (the day my mother died). Starting next week for Pushing Daisy Tuesday Tribute, I’ll share a story, an event or mysterious occurrences involving this date. These posts will be categorized as events that happened before Nov. 14, 2013, the day of Nov. 14th, and after Nov. 14th, so stay tuned! In the meantime, I’ve reposted the accomplishments  and vision for the last days of the drive.

Diasy Drive

The original goal for Phase 1 of the  Pushing Daisy Drive  was:

To fund the start-up costs and planning involved to build an Eco-friendly home and educational center in Antigua, West Indies, that will also serve as a private operating foundation in honor of my mother’s legacy of service.

THE GOOD NEWS
A family member made a donation to cover the land taxes and lawyer fees associated with the center site, which is a great blessing. Also, as a result of extensive research, I found out that the best organizational structure with the least amount of paperwork and international red tape would be a health education ministry instead of a private operation foundation. Essentially, we will be able to do everything (and even more) that we would be able to do as an operating foundation, while saving a lot of time and money in the long run. However, there are still legal costs involved to complete the process.

THE CHALLENGE

Raise $2,750 by Nov. 14th for Legal Fees
My goal is to raise $2, 750 by developing a PWYW (Pay What You Want) product, event or service with great content and offer a limited time only discount on my coaching services during the last days of the campaign. Your feedback and participation will be much appreciated during this time, so stay tuned.

THE VISION

Develop a Product, Event or Service for the End of the Campaign
In the Mayan Calendar, there is a 50-Day period that happens at least once a year made up of portal and core days taking place from Oct. 31st to December 19th in 2014. The 20-day cycle of core days begins on Nov. 15th and ironically for this year, the Mayan season changes on Nov. 14th– the day before! At this time, the energy on the planet is more powerful to accelerate transformation and to be more receptive to cosmic knowledge for self mastery. During this 50 Day period, I’ll be developing a product, event or service that can assist participants collectively tap into this energy to ‘anchor reality in the now’ and manifest our desires.

90 DAY VISION

It’s hard to believe there are less than 90 Days left in the 10-Month Manifest Your Desires Campaign. In this post, I share the accomplishments so far and the activities I have planned for the last 90 days of the campaign. Also, don’t miss out on the Conscious Co-Creator Contest that started on Aug. 22nd. Once again, your feedback and comments will make a difference in what products or events I create for the ending of the campaign, so I look forward to hearing from you!

Manifest Desires

The 10-Month Mission I set out to achieve when I first began this blog on Jan. 14th was:

To encourage, inspire and support others in manifesting their desires by blogging about my 10-month commitment to manifest my internal and external desires in honor of my mother.

THE GOOD NEWS

Two Internal Desires
I’ve had roughly 7 months training in learning how to do something for the love of it and not out of excessive obligation. This required a large amount of trust and acceptance. I alluded in a past post, Four Things I’ve Learned in the Last Six Months, that there were plenty of times of deep vulnerability (usually when my person wasn’t able to deliver on a editorial promise). These experiences have allowed me to love myself moreno matter what.

Allowing my desires to shine forth despite what others might think and being okay with myself no matter what has been a true act of intimacy that I’m only now beginning to understand. There is a reason why a lot of us don’t take risk and go after our desires. It’s because of all the internal ghosts and external remarks that come up from within and without that are unceasingly tempting us to give up. Sharing these posts (and not knowing whether anyone is reading or even caring) has allowed for a type of intimacy beyond words. My person has become stronger emotionally and more self-reliant, allowing me to T.A.P into happiness like never before.

Two External Desires
Staying in touch with how I wanted to feel during the course of this campaign has allowed me to be more in tune with my limitations and distractions without judgment. It’s also given me the ability to regroup, refocus and pick myself up and dust myself off when I’ve fallen short of my goals.

I’ve had to scale back on the travel writing and put off a lot of time I could have spent book writing, yet the good news is that I haven’t given up! I’ve actually become more realistic, prepared and able to see what is possible, even if it all doesn’t come within the 10-month time frame.

THE CHALLENGE

Conduct a Series of Successful Surveys & Polls by Sept. 8th
Blogging and book writing can be a solitary road, so getting your feedback assists me in writing and sharing what is most needed. As of today, only three people have taken the book survey and my goal is to get at least 100 people by Sept. 8th. In exchange for your feedback, I’m planning to give away one free spot for my upcoming retreat in Mexico.

More Consistent Creative Posts
For the last days of the campaign, you can expect more guest posts, creative poetic posts,  pictures and videos on a more consistent basis. Now that I’m freeing up more of my time for what I’m passionate about, I can put some of that passion into my upcoming posts.

THE VISION

playaConscious Co-Creator Contest
The Conscious Co-Creator Contest began August 22nd and the goal is to get feedback on your biggest challenges around conscious co-creation, as well as for my upcoming book Prayers of a Virgin: 52 Weeks of Poetic Inspiration and Personal Planetary Guidance with the Destiny Cards. The prize is a free 90 Minute Initial Consultation OR one free tuition (travel and accommodation not included) to my upcoming Conscious Co-Creation Retreat @ The Sanctuary in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, Sept. 19th-26th.

Commence Crowdfunding
In junior high, I used to wonder why my graduation was called commencement, when I was actually completing school. Now I understand, it’s because the focus was on celebrating what’s been completed and preparing for what is to come. Although I won’t complete my book or become a successful travel writer by the time I complete this campaign, I will be commencing a journey of taking my writing and publishing to another level that would have never been possible before the campaign. Just as I wrap up the campaign, I plan to begin a crowd funding for books campaign on Pubslush.  This will give me more exposure for my book and allow people the opportunity to buy the book ahead of time, as a way of investing in the vision. With this initial investment, I’ll have the  resources needed to self-publish and get it on the market sooner. Another great benefit of the Pubslush platform is that I’ll have the opportunity to get more feedback in order to produce a better product.

Nearing 90 Days in Counting & I Need Your Feedback!

Manifest Desires

This Sunday, August 17, brings us to the last 90 days of the 10-Month Manifest Your Desires Campaign. The other day I was contemplating what activities and posts I’d like to share to go out strong, when I heard a lot of noise in the yard. I looked outside my window and saw a bunch of chickens making so much noise, I was inspired to look up ‘the chicken’ as an animal totem to see what message it had for me. I believe that animals and insects have meaningful messages when they cross our paths. The chicken characteristic that stood out most after reading the significance of it strutting into my life was “balancing patience with action.” I can definitely relate! I’m learning that before I take further action on my projects, it’s important to have patience to check in with myself and my audience.

I Need Your Feedback for My Upcoming Book!

In my last post update, Four Things I’ve Learned in the Last Six Months , I mentioned that I’d  be conducting a survey to get feedback on your biggest challenges around conscious co-creation and for my upcoming book Prayers of a Virgin: 52 Weeks of Poetic Inspiration and Personal Planetary Guidance with the Destiny Cards.

Blogging and book writing can be a solitary road, so getting your feedback assists me in writing and sharing what is most needed. In exchange for your feedback on the blog and with the survey,  I’m planning to give away one free spot for my upcoming week-long Conscious Co-Creation Retreat @ The Sanctuary in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, Sept. 19th-26th.

Stay Tuned For Manifest Monday

Starting Monday, I’ll be sharing the activities, posts and projects planned for the last 90 days of the campaign. Once again, your feedback and comments will make a difference in what I produce. So, I look forward to hearing from you. Please make sure to take the survey!

Words of Wisdom from the Wildflower Daisy

Tuesday Tribute

When I was young, my mother always used to recite some bible verse to get her point across. In fact, she was the most bible quoting women that I knew! Out of all my mother’s bible quotes, my favorite was Matthew 10:16, ” ….be ye therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”

For some reason, this verse has left a lasting impression on how I navigate life. I have been on a quest for knowledge, wisdom and understanding all my life, but I’ve also understood (thanks to Daisy) that with these things comes the responsibility to live a life with integrity as a form of “universal protection.”

Remembering Maya, Remembering Mama

Tuesday Tribute

After I read this post from veteran blogger Awesomely Luvvie, I immediately recalled Oprah’s 2013 interview with Maya Angelou discussing her 34th book about her mother. Then at age 85, Dr. Angelou talked about her special bond with her mother, Vivian Baxter. My mother was alive when I watched this interview, and I remember thinking how much the relationship between Maya and her mama reminded me of my relationship with my mother. Like Maya, my mother also wanted a daughter and almost gave up, before I arrived on the scene as her “only daughter” as she was fond of saying. So, as I salute these Shining Sistahs with Swords , these phenomenal woman of wisdom, I am especially reminded of how powerfully potent the last quote in this post truly is. Enjoy!

Maya Angelou: Rise in Power After Living in Purpose

  May 28, 2014 | Luvvie

Maya Angelou Pic

Maya Angelou is gone and I was not ready. I wasn’t ready because I just figured Mother Maya would stay to give us more words. I figured she’d stay forever and just continue to be magic. I’m so selfish because she’s given more than enough.

I don’t think I have the right words to speak about Marguerite Johnson the Beloved. I don’t know if there is a right way to memorialize someone whose words are like life’s manual. What do you say about the woman who touched nations? What can articulate the impact of her being? I don’t even have the vocabulary for it.

Maya Angelou didn’t write poetry. She WAS poetry. Her whole being was in beautiful prose.

Maya is (not was) a Queen, especially to us Black girls. In her struggles you saw yours but in her power, you also found yours. In her vulnerability, you ached to let yours show and in her confidence, you fist pumped because yours could look like hers.

She told us revolutionary things, like we are worth love in every way. We can give it, we can receive it, and we can wear it like a coat and not be ashamed by it. That woman sat there and told the world “You will love me, even though you might not want to. You will deal!” And people did!

Maya-Angelou-Quotes-2

I can barely memorize 2 phone numbers but I’ve memorized plenty of things Dr. Maya Angelou said. Her words are like music because when you hear them, they speak straight to your heart. Before your brain even registers it, your chest swells. And your soul says “YESSSS! I needed that.”

As a woman, as a Black woman, as a writer, Maya told me I owed it to myself to live life loudly and boldly. It wasn’t just something I should do, it’s something I MUST do.

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with passion, some compassion, some humor and some style.”

Maya Angelou walked in her purpose. That’s clear. So mourning her is really for our benefit. She did what she needed and wanted to, like Nelson Mandela and the other greats before her. She will never really die because she left her spirit behind in the work she’s done.

Watch the video below (from Maya’s LifeClass on OWN), and get your entire LIFE from Mother Maya’s wisdom.

My favorite quote from here is: “I have to know that the brute, the bigot and the batterer are all children of God, whether they know it or not.”

There’s power in knowing that you lived life well and good. Maya did that, and the caged bird is free.

What great things can be said about Maya Angelou that’ll suffice? None of it will be enough. But we speak her name with the utmost respect. Mother, Poet, Activist, Writer, Giver of Verbal Life, Dream Enabler, Giant, Goddess, Queen, Matron Saint of Get Life Right.

Mother Maya, girl. Listen. You phenomenal portrait of poise. You bombastically brilliant, bright, blazing symbol of bravery and goodness. You epic, life-affirming, life-changing, life-loving, life-living, luminous luminary.

Stay rising, sis. You did so good and we thank you for it. Rise rise rise in power.
