I grew up hearing my mother quote this proverb all the time. To me, it means to see the handwriting on the wall, pay attention to the signs and take precautions and learn from other’s and your own mistakes. This has been key for me and less has proven to be best in 2020!

I can’t believe February 14, 2020 makes exactly five months since my last blog post announcing going into 30 Days of Silence and my 2020 Book Vision Schedule. You can imagine my surprise coming out of 30 days of silence at the Vipassana retreat center in Jessup, GA. only to discover that the whole world was on lock down and all my plans would never be the same again!

Thankfully, I was allowed to stay within the peace of the center for an extra two weeks. In that time, my plans changed to go back to Mexico to house sit earlier than scheduled. The irony of it all! I arrived to the retreat center on February 14th,Valentines Day, and left on April 1st, April Fools’ Day. I guess in regards to my 2020 plans, the joke was really on me! COVID-19 has truly “changed my funk to disco,” and now my plans have narrowed in focus out of necessity and urgency. Stay tuned for updates on my next post.

Pushing Daisy Drive Update

I can’t believe January 14, 2020 made six years since I created this blog and began the Pushing Daisy Drive (Driven by Miss Daisy’s Daughter). Although there’s still a lot that I haven’t accomplished, I give thanks for all of the goals that I have been able to reach within this time period.

30 Days of Silence as an Act of Self-Love

On Valentine’s Day February 14th, exactly one month after my six year blogging anniversary, I will be attending my first 30-Day Vipassana Meditation Silence Retreat Februray 14th- March 16th in Jessup, GA. Now I have done 10-Day and 20-Day Silent Retreats, but I’ve never sat for a 30-Day Silent retreat! This will be my biggest act of Self-Love and probably my only opportunity to take this amount of time off because after this, “It’s gonna be on like buttered popcorn!” Here are some of the things I’m up to in 2020.

March 17th: Focal Point Newsletter Reconvenes

Starting on March 17th, I plan to revamp my monthly newsletter that goes out every 4th Quarter of the moon and make it into a podcast. My goal is to have a Monthly Conscious Co-Creator Zoom Call every new moon. You will learn useful tips on becoming a better conscious co-creator and also be able to share what you already know in an interactive group dynamic. I will be giving mini-consultations to a few “lucky” participants as well.

Dec. 10th: IAG Book Launch

It’s All G.O.Ø.D.: A Conscious Co-Creator’s Guide to Healing the Effects of White Supremacy is the third and final book that I look forward to publishing by the end of 2020. I know that it’s a pretty ambitious goal, yet for the love of Daisy and sharing my greatest gifts, I plan to push on through to complete this final book by my Earthday, Dec. 10, 2020.

Part memoir, part paradigm shifting guidebook, IAG promises to be my most thought provoking book to date. From today’s vantage point, I had no idea how significant the book title would be back in May 2012, when I first kicked off an IAG 9 Month Countdown campaign.

Our Parents: Our Power & Our Path

One of the greatest teachings I received from Zoey Marae, the late great medical intuitive, was that mothers represent our power and fathers represent our path. She used the analogy of a river, with the mother being the body of water and the father being the river bed.

It’s ironic that my mother was born in Antigua where they brag of having 365 beaches for every day of the year and my father was born in Dominica where they brag of having 365 rivers for everyday of the year. Our “mother power” is the amount of water and our “father path” is the ease of flow and direction of the water.

Our Power

What I know to be true about power is that it comes from our spiritual foundation. Contrary to what many believe, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. While I inherited a strong spiritual foundation from my mother, one of her weaknesses was not knowing how to direct her power to manifest her dream of becoming a successful social entrepreneur.

Our Path

What I know to be true about a positive pathway is that it comes from our perception. Contrary to what many believe, how we see ourselves and the world is based on what we perpetually think. My father was MIA most my childhood, so although I’m unaware of him leaving a learning legacy, he did the best he could and left me a lineage to one of the most beautiful places on the planet-Dominica.

“Power without a positive pathway does not lead to happiness.”

Because we inherit our power and our path from our parents, we start off with certain strengths and weaknesses from the get go, but it’s up to us as adults to maximize our strengths and minimize our weaknesses.

Publishing Prayers of a Virgin

When I first started what has now been a seven year journey to publish Prayers of a Virgin: 52 Weeks of Poetic Inspiration and Personal Planetary Guidance with the Destiny Cards (POV) both my parents were alive. Just like my mother, my challenges have been around consciously co-creating my life and my living doing what I love as a light beacon, unbought and unbossed. POV has been a real labor of love and points the way for all light beacons to become better conscious co-creators of the life they desire by reclaiming their “virgin mindset.” It also provides a fun, hands-on approach to learning Cardology, an ancient astrological system hidden in the deck of playing cards.

The Million Dollar Question

Now that my power and my path have both passed, in what area and in what manner do I create my own powerful pathways in the world? From today, the date of my mother’s sunrise, Sept. 26th, to POV’s Publication Day, the date of my father’s sunset, Oct. 12th, will prove to be a powerful period for me in declaring my power and my path and it will all take place on Patreon’s platform.

Why POV Was Postponed

Originally POV was going to be published today on my mother’s Earthday; however, after attending a Hay House Writer’s Workshop webinar, I realized I had more revisions to make. The new publication date is scheduled for Oct. 12th, the day my father made his transition, which actually is a much better date astrologically.

Ironically, I made the decision to change the date just when Saturn stationed direct on Sept. 18th! During this 7 year period, I was so focused on my mother since she passed away shortly after I began this project and completely forgot to mention my father passing in the dedication page as well! It’s become clear to me now that as I declare and reclaim my path as a writer and entrepreneur, I can’t forget to acknowledge my papa, my path.

They say the best things in life aren’t planned and that fact is stranger than fiction. I believe both to be true, especially since on Mother’s Day, my journey back to my house sitting gig in Mexico landed me right in the middle of Teotihuacan (The Place Where Gods Were Created) on a 7♦ and J♥ day in the Destiny Cards System. For those who are not familiar with Cardology, this is significant because my mother was born on a J♥ day!

Happy Belated Mother’s Day To All!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful souls that qualify to hold this title- whether by giving biological birth or by nourishing and nurturing souls literally and/or figuratively. None of us would be here or have survived this long without a mother’s love and support.

Ironically, today brings forth another serendipitous event. May 14th makes it exactly 6 months short of it being exactly 6 years since my mom made herself a memory back on Nov. 14th, 2013. There’s still not a day that goes by that I don’t think about her.

Since six is a number representing karma and things that weren’t settled coming into balance, today makes the perfect “payback day” for me toward my mother.

At DeBorah B’s Travel Bug Blog, I not only promote fundraisers, share travel stories, and showcase community events, artists and activists, l also use this platform to promote my 2020 Book Vision.

My 2020 Vision

Since I’ve worn glasses since the age of 5, I’m definitely not talking about my eyesight! My vision for Who I Am Communications is to finish writing 6 books sharing powerful practices and principles for conscious co-creation and to promote & publish 3 of them by the year 2020.

What IS Conscious Co-Creation & Why Is It Important?

For better or worse, you are constantly co-creating your life circumstances with the Creator of All There Is in your every thought, word and action. Yet, what if you could do so more consciously? What would it be like if you knew, just like you know when you’re thirsty, how to tap into Creator Source to co-create the mental, emotional and financial breakthroughs you deserve? Now imagine if we ALL could consciously co-create the lives we desire on every level?

That would completely eradicate the need to complain or get caught up in power struggles. Yet, because of a loss of faith and a lack of trust from life experiences, it feels futile to fully commit to co-creating our desires. Facing the shadow of my greatest wounds involving racism, sexism and ageism has allowed me to experienced first-hand the power of conscious co-creation. And over time, these same shadow experiences have transformed into my greatest gifts that I’m committed to sharing now.

So far, I’ve finished one of the six books, Afraid of Our Own Shadow: A Manifesto and Guide for Conscious Co-Creation. As a 40 pg. e-book, AOOS can be considered the practical, hands-on, how-to part to It’s All G.O.D.: A Conscious Creator’s Guide to Healing the Effects of White Supremacy. Part memoir, part paradigm shifting guidebook, IAG promises to be my most thought provoking book to date. In today’s social climate, I had no idea how significant the book title would be back in 2012, when I first kicked off the IAG 9 Month Countdown campaign that I have since put on hold after my mother died to focus on first publishing Prayers of a Virgin: 52 Weeks of Poetic Inspiration and Personal Planetary Guidance with the Destiny Cards.

Celebrating Mama After Surviving Maria!

HAPPY EARTHDAY MAMA!

Today, my mother Daisy would have been 80 yrs. old. Although a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about her or wish that she was here, after surviving hurricane Maria and witnessing the destruction and transformation taking place on the planet as a result of mankind’s choices, I’m glad that her spirit is on the other side.

Maybe she’s what kept me safe while in Dominica? Me, my cousin Bird and his wife Susan were all fortunate not to have any windows blow out or lose any part of the roof during the hurricane. With five coconut trees in front of the house, not one fell on the the house. There was no water damage and plenty of oranges, avocados, papaya and coconuts to last us for awhile, with a fresh water spring walking distance from the house. All I can say is G.O.D. is good! My prayers, love and positive energy are with all the survivors of the hurricane season thus far and to all the friends and family of those that didn’t make it in south Asia, Africa, the USA, the Caribbean, Mexico, Peru and anywhere else I’ve forgotten to mention. Although this is a major trauma to mankind, Mother Earth so needs this cleansing and she has no choice but to evolve, with or without us.

BEFORE MARIA

I’m grateful for a most beautiful Sunday before the storm. I went to the river, visited friends and had lunch with family and loved ones while experiencing the most beautiful weather. That day is how I choose to remember Dominica and hold space for what it can become once again.

AFTER MARIA

While my cousin’s house was still in tact, nothing could have prepared me for what I witnessed after venturing out to see the rest of Roseau! It felt like being in the midst of a war zone. With so much destruction it was encouraging to see the spirit of the people taking their lost so gracefully and being thankful for life!

MARIA- MY GAME CHANGER

What a difference one day can make. When my mother died on November 14th, 2013, it was The Day That Changed Everything. Now that I’ve survived hurricane Maria, I’m calling it “My Game Changer.” There is no way that I can walk this planet earth the same way again. And to be honest, it’s not just because of Maria, it’s because of what Mother Earth, who loves us so dearly, has been forced to do because of mankind’s choices. This was my wake up call to firmly embrace that humanity is truly on the brink of a major breakthrough or a major breakdown- or both! Simultaneously, for some it will be a breakthrough and for others it will be a breakdown. When we side with what’s a win for our heart’s true desire, nature and the environment, we win; when we side with what works against these things, we lose.

Movies like Cowspiracy and just being in tune with Mother Nature have opened my eyes to all the ways our everyday choices and indifference allow evil to run rampant. My mother used to say, “He who doesn’t hear will feel!” Well, we are feeling it now and it’s never too late to start again right where we are at.

KEEP IT SIMPLE SISTER!

Before Maria, I had lots of travel plans and projects that I’m now putting On Hold to focus on the “One Thing” that allows me to share my greatest gifts. That goal is still to write three books by 2020. Instead of launching an Indiegogo Campaign today as I had planned on my mother’s birthday for Prayers of a Virgin: 52 Weeks of Poetic Inspiration and Personal Planetary Guidance With the Destiny Cards, I am going to focus on going within a spending more time reaching my writing goals. By getting back to the basics, I don’t allow procrastination, overwhelm, aiming too high or too low to stop me from accomplishing what I most desire. There will be more to the story in the near future, but for now, it comes on a need to know bases for myself as well as my tribe. Thanks for reading!

Fyah Burning- The “Bee-U-Tiful Spots” Series Begins

Whether it be the historic “Fireburn” Labor Rebellion on Oct. 1, 1878 or the fire burning at a Rasta ceremony with Nyabinghi drumming and chanting, St. Croix is no stranger to fyah burning. This shot was taken at an African Liberation Day celebration. I’m sure my mother, the rebel and Zulu Queen Daisy would like this one!

About Sneferu Hotep

Sneferu Hotep is the founder and force behind the nonprofit Egiptian Church of Karast A’ashuq Youth & Prison Ministries. Their mission is to compassionately provide a supportive environment while uplifting and empowering all families in the Virgin Islands and surrounding areas. Through Agricultural, Educational, Spirit Counsel, and Youth Centered activities, the ministry addresses community issues by way of A’ashuq ”Divine Love”.
